M Performing Arts Center

Location

Upstate NY

Date

2025

Size

110,000 sq ft

Role

Design Architect

Located in a growing city in Upstate New York, this 110,000-square-foot contemporary performing arts center is conceived as a dialogue between openness and enclosure. The program includes a 2,000-seat theater, food and beverage venues, meeting facilities, and administrative offices, creating a vibrant destination for performances, cultural events, and community engagement.

A transparent glass lobby serves as an inviting public gathering space, visually connecting the interior with the surrounding urban environment, while the solid theater volume creates a dramatic performance hall optimized for acoustics, technical performance, and audience experience. The architectural composition balances transparency and solidity, expressing the relationship between civic interaction and the immersive world of the performing arts.

Designed as a cultural landmark, the project enhances the city's public realm while providing a flexible venue for performances, education, and community activities. Through the integration of architecture, technology, and public space, the center establishes a dynamic destination that celebrates both artistic expression and community connection.
